Harpenden Squadron Headquarters
A few words from the Commanding Officer
I'd like to welcome you all to Harpenden Air Cadets, also known officially as 795 (Harpenden) Squadron Air Training Corps. We
are one of 30 Squadrons in Herts and Bucks Wing administered from RAF Halton, and there are in total 969 Sqns across the
United Kingdom.
Our Sqn has existed in its own right in Harpenden since 1980. It was previously part of 220 (St Albans) Sqn as 220 Detached
Flight. 795 Sqn was awarded its own building in 1985 which, following expansion was replaced with a new £0.3m HQ in 2009,
shared with Harpenden Detachment Army Cadet Force on alternate evenings. Sited in local parkland and with classrooms set up
with modern equipment we are able to supply top quality training and e-learning across the ATC syllabus.
With around 50 cadets and 8 staff we are busier than ever and have won some very significant ATC awards in the last few years.
Regularly appearing in local community events, the cadets and staff are well known in the town. I have been in command of 795
Sqn for nearly 10 years now and have seen several generations of cadets pass through. I very much look forward to offering
training and giving opportunities to the next generation!
Officer Commanding
Flt Lt Tim Hatton RAFVR(T)
